Empowering Research through Seamless Operations and Expert Support

The Administration and Finance (A&F) team at Comparative Medicine Services (CMS) provides essential operational support, overseeing key areas such as financial management, business operations, network and information management, and departmental personnel oversight. The team ensures smooth and compliant research operations by coordinating with investigators, laboratory staff, and administrators to facilitate necessary services like animal purchasing and supply management.

A&F is responsible for all animal ordering, a vital part of Tufts CMS’s accredited animal care and use program. This exclusive role allows CMS to maintain quality control, protect the health of both animals and staff, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards. Animals can only be ordered from approved vendors, and any animals from non-approved sources must undergo a quarantine process before entering the facility. Additionally, the team supports the research process by handling cage card printing requests and managing account updates for accurate billing and census tracking.

By maintaining clear, efficient processes and upholding the highest standards in animal care, the A&F team plays a crucial role in the overall success of research projects, ensuring investigators have the necessary resources to conduct their studies effectively. Their collaborative approach and dedication to operational excellence allow Tufts CMS to remain a top-tier research facility.
